Most ticketing platforms keep a percentage of every ticket and pay you after the event. There is also the option where the money goes straight into your account.
How the commission model works
The platform collects into its own account, keeps 3–10% of every ticket, sometimes plus a fixed fee, and pays you the rest after the event. The cost grows with your success: the more you sell, the more you pay for the same service.
The option without a middleman
You open an account with a payment processor — in Romania usually NETOPIA or Stripe — and connect it to the ticketing platform. The attendee pays and the money goes straight to your account, on the processor’s schedule.
You only pay the processor’s fee, under your own agreement, and the platform, at a fixed price per event.
A simple calculation
At 800 tickets of 250 lei, revenue is 200,000 lei. A 5% commission means 10,000 lei paid to the platform, just because the money went through it. With your own processor that amount stays with you, and you know the platform’s cost upfront.
What to check before you choose
- Whose name is on the account the money goes into
- When you get paid: with every payment or after the event
- Who issues the attendee’s invoice and whether it reaches e-Factura
- What happens with a refund and who handles it
- Whether you can export the attendee list at any time
